Privacy Policy

01 Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Assister ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Assister Discord bot ("the Bot") in your Discord server or direct messages.

By adding or using Assister in any Discord server, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please remove the Bot from your server and discontinue use.

02 Data We Collect

Assister collects the minimum data necessary to provide its features. Here is exactly what we store:

• Guild (Server) ID — Used to store per-server configuration such as antinuke settings, automod rules, autorole setups, prefix, and all module configurations.
• User ID — Used for whitelist entries (antinuke, automod), AFK status, warn records, snipe caching, and user-specific features like reminders and profile badges.
• Channel IDs — Stored when you configure media-only channels, join-to-create channels, or any channel-specific module.
• Role IDs — Stored for autorole configurations, VC roles, and antinuke/automod whitelist entries.
• Message Content — Temporarily cached for the snipe command only. This data is held briefly in memory and is never written to permanent storage.
• Autoresponder & Autoreact Triggers — The trigger phrases and responses you configure are stored per-server.
• Warn Records — Warning reasons and timestamps associated with User IDs, stored per server.
• Reminder Data — Reminder message content and scheduled time, associated with a User ID and Channel ID.

We do not collect or store real names, email addresses, IP addresses, payment information, or any data outside of what is listed above.

03 How We Use Data

All data collected is used exclusively to operate and improve the Bot's features. Specifically:

• Guild settings and configurations are used to enforce your server's antinuke, automod, autorole, media, and voice module rules.
• User IDs in whitelist entries are used to determine who is exempt from antinuke or automod punishments.
• Warn records are used by the warn check and warn clear commands.
• Reminder data is used solely to deliver scheduled reminders to the correct user and channel.
• Autoresponder and autoreact entries are used to match messages and trigger the configured responses or reactions.

Data is never used for advertising, profiling, analytics sold to third parties, or any purpose beyond operating the Bot's commands.

04 Data Storage & Retention

Server configuration data (antinuke settings, automod rules, autorole configs, etc.) is retained for as long as Assister is present in your server. When you remove the Bot from your server, you may request deletion of all associated data by contacting us.

Snipe data (deleted message cache) is held only in runtime memory and is never persisted to disk. It is automatically cleared when the Bot restarts.

Remind entries are automatically deleted after the reminder is delivered. Warn records persist until cleared by a server moderator using warn clear.

All stored data resides on secured infrastructure. We apply reasonable technical safeguards to protect it from unauthorized access.

05 Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your data. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any third-party commercial entity.

Data may only be disclosed in the following limited circumstances:

• If required by applicable law, court order, or legal process.
• To protect the rights, safety, or property of Assister, its users, or the public.
• In the event of a service merger or transfer — in which case users will be notified via our Support Server.

Assister integrates with the Discord API only. All Discord interactions are governed by Discord's own Privacy Policy.

06 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data stored by Assister:

• Access — You may request a summary of what data we hold associated with your User ID or Guild ID.
• Deletion — You may request deletion of your data at any time. For server data, the server owner must make this request. For personal data (reminders, AFK, warns), any user may request it.
• Correction — Many settings can be corrected directly via bot commands (e.g. automod config, antinuke setup). For anything else, contact us.
• Opt-out — You may remove Assister from your server at any time. This will stop all further data collection for that server.

07 Security

We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect the data we store. Our infrastructure uses access controls, secure connections, and least-privilege principles to prevent unauthorized access.

However, no system is completely immune to risk. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects user data, we will notify affected users via our Support Server as promptly as possible.

08 Minors

Assister is intended for use on Discord, which requires users to be at least 13 years of age (or older in certain jurisdictions) per Discord's Terms of Service. We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under the age of 13.

If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate action.

09 Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the change. Significant updates will be announced in our Support Server.

Continued use of Assister after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
