Applies ToAssister Discord Bot

01 Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Assister ("we", "us", "our"), a Discord bot ("the Bot") provided for use within Discord servers and direct messages.

By adding the Bot to your server or interacting with it in any way, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please remove the Bot from your server immediately and discontinue use.

Short version: Use Assister fairly, don't abuse it, and don't use it to harm others. We reserve the right to block access for violations. These Terms exist to keep the service safe and functional for everyone.

02 Eligibility

To use Assister, you must meet the following requirements:

  • You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required by Discord in your jurisdiction) to use the Bot, in accordance with Discord's own Terms of Service.
  • You must have a valid Discord account in good standing and comply with Discord's Terms of Service at all times while using Assister.
  • Server owners and administrators who add the Bot to a server are responsible for ensuring all members of that server interact with the Bot in accordance with these Terms.

We reserve the right to restrict access to Assister for any user or server that does not meet these eligibility requirements.

03 Acceptable Use

Assister is provided as a moderation, utility, and management bot for Discord servers. You agree to use it only for its intended purpose, in good faith, and in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and Discord's platform rules.

Acceptable uses include, but are not limited to:

  • Configuring and using moderation features such as antinuke, automod, and warn systems to manage your Discord server.
  • Using utility features such as reminders, AFK, snipe, and autoresponders for legitimate server management and engagement.
  • Setting up automation such as autoroles, join-to-create voice channels, and media-only channels for community management.

04 Prohibited Actions

The following actions are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate and permanent blacklisting from Assister:

  • Abuse or exploitation — Attempting to exploit bugs, loopholes, or unintended behaviors in the Bot for personal gain or to cause disruption.
  • Spam or flooding — Using the Bot to send excessive commands, trigger spam, or flood channels in a way that degrades the experience for others.
  • Malicious configuration — Configuring Assister features (such as automod, autorole, or antinuke) with the intent to harm, harass, or manipulate server members.
  • Impersonation — Using the Bot or its responses to impersonate other users, bots, or official entities.
  • Illegal activity — Using Assister in any way that violates local, national, or international laws or regulations.
  • Reverse engineering — Attempting to decompile, reverse engineer, or extract the source code of the Bot without explicit written permission.
  • Circumventing restrictions — Attempting to bypass blacklists, rate limits, or any other access controls implemented by the Bot.
Note: Violations of these terms may result in your User ID and/or Guild ID being permanently blacklisted from using Assister, with no obligation on our part to provide explanation or opportunity for appeal.

05 Bot Features & Availability

Assister is provided on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and the Bot may experience downtime due to maintenance, updates, or unforeseen issues.

  • Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time without prior notice. We will endeavor to announce significant changes in our Support Server.
  • Some features may have rate limits or usage thresholds applied to ensure fair access for all servers.
  • We are not responsible for any loss of data, server disruption, or other damages resulting from Bot downtime, feature changes, or misconfiguration on your part.

Command behavior and outputs are provided as-is. While we strive for accuracy and reliability, certain features (such as automod pattern matching or antinuke detection) may produce false positives or miss edge cases.

06 Termination & Access Revocation

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently revoke access to Assister — for any individual User ID or Guild ID — at our sole discretion and without prior notice, particularly in cases of:

  • Violation of these Terms of Service.
  • Violation of Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
  • Any behavior we reasonably determine to be harmful to other users, the Bot's infrastructure, or the broader community.

You may discontinue use of Assister at any time by removing the Bot from your server. Removal does not automatically delete stored data; please refer to our Privacy Policy for data deletion requests.

07 Disclaimer of Warranties

Assister is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties including but not limited to:

  • Implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
  • Any warranty that the Bot will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or harmful components.
  • Any warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any output produced by the Bot.

Your use of Assister is entirely at your own risk. You are solely responsible for how you configure and use the Bot within your server.

08 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Assister and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Bot.

This includes, without limitation, any loss of data, server bans, Discord penalties, reputational damage, or other harm resulting from:

  • Misconfiguration of any Bot feature by server administrators.
  • Bot downtime, data loss, or unexpected behavior.
  • Actions taken by the Bot in response to triggers, events, or commands within your server.
  • Any third-party service (including Discord) modifying their platform in a way that affects the Bot's functionality.

09 Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. When updates are made, the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Significant changes will be announced in our Support Server.

Continued use of Assister after any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must remove the Bot from your server and discontinue use.
